Privacy Policy

Short version

The Tappa Toolbox does not collect personal information. All calculations run in your browser — nothing is sent to our servers. We use privacy-friendly analytics to count page visits (no personal data, no cookies that track you). That's it.

Who we are

Tappa Pty Ltd (ABN pending) operates the Tappa Toolbox at tools.tappa.com.au. We are subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect — and what we don't

Calculator inputs

When you use a tool, your inputs (pipe sizes, fixture counts, job costs, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. They are not sent to our servers, not stored, and not logged. When you close or refresh the page, they're gone.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible Analytics or similar) to understand which tools are being used and how traffic reaches the site. This collects:

• Page URL visited
• Referring site
• Browser type and operating system (aggregated, not fingerprinted)
• Country (derived from IP — IP address itself is not stored)

No cookies are set for analytics. No personal data is collected or stored. No cross-site tracking. The analytics data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.

Error reports

If you email us to report an error (via the “Found an error?” link), we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to your report and improve the tools. We don't add you to any mailing list.

What we don't collect

We do not collect:

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers (unless you email us)
• IP addresses (analytics provider discards them)
• Location beyond country level
• Payment information (the tools are free)
• Device identifiers or persistent cookies

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. The site may use session-level browser storage to preserve your state within a single tool session (e.g., keeping your inputs if you navigate between steps). This data stays in your browser and is cleared when you close the tab.

Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising. We use the following third-party services:

• Vercel — website hosting. Vercel processes standard web server logs (IP addresses, request paths) as part of hosting. See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Plausible Analytics (or equivalent privacy-friendly analytics) — anonymous, aggregated page view data only. No personal data. No cross-site tracking.

Data retention

Because we don't collect personal information, there's nothing to retain or delete. If you've emailed us, we may retain that correspondence for up to 2 years for reference, after which it is deleted.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. Given we collect almost no personal information, this right is unlikely to be relevant — but if you've emailed us and want us to delete that correspondence, just ask.

Children

These tools are designed for licensed tradespeople. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows (for example, if we add account features or a quoting platform in the future). We'll update the “Last updated” date at the top when we do.
